Gibraltar Point Visitors Centre
The initial works involved were the installation of 49 helical screw pile foundations, from which a raised steel structure was constructed on, in order to protect against future flood damage. The external walls of the building were fundamentally constructed via a sustainable prefabricated “SIPS” panel system, which incorporates off site construction of ready-made, highly efficient, insulated timber panels. These were then clad externally in Thermowood timber cladding. Works also included new Mechanical & Electrical services, installation of a new commercial kitchen, installation of new Surface & foul water drainage, Aluminium windows & doors, internal finishes and various external landscaping works. Also included within the works were a low level & raised viewing deck area, which incorporated Fibregrid decking & bespoke glass balustrading.
