Preston’s Farm Barns Conversion
John Martin-Hoyes Ltd. have completed construction on a prestigious project close to Lincoln converting 5nr. Victorian barns to be luxury homes. With a high standard throughout including under floor heating and feature oak beams, the barns at Prestons Farm have been sympathetically converted to provide high specification living accommodation using renewable technologies. The site is within the Eagle Hall Estate and is steeped in history: once the home of the Knights Templar and the Knights Preceptory who during the 12th and 13th centuries are understood to have had links with Lincoln Cathedral. As a result of the historic links to Lincoln Cathedral the properties have incorporated recycled timber and stone kindly donated by Lincoln Cathedral Estate. The site also celebrates the longstanding family connections to Prestons Farm, which cover nearly 100 years and four generations, with features including the millstone table, saddle stones, Lincoln Imp, barn names, memorial tree and business growth logo. The success of this project was also recently recognised in the Lincolnite,  with our Site Manager Eric Wilson being nominated, and subsequently winning the award for Construction Professional Of The Year  at the 2021 NKDC Building Excellence Awards. Eric's eye for detail and unparalleled input and experience during the project was one key factor to the standard that was achieved, and overall success of the project. With the collaborative assistance of our local supply chain and our own skilled employed labour force, we were able to ensure the clients requirements were fully met, and the finished project delivered to the high standard they were expecting.
