Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust – Accommodation Pods

John Martin-Hoyes Ltd. have recently completed the construction of 2 separate elevated Accommodation Pods for the Lincolnshire Wildfire Trust, as part of the wider Dynamic DuneScapes project. The pods consist of two units, with one of the buildings located at Saltfleetby, and the other at Gibraltar Point. The elevated timber frame buildings will provide modern and efficient temporary accommodation for volunteers who are working on the sand dunes along the east coast of Lincolnshire. The project, under a full JCT Design & Build Contract, developed the initial plans and brief set out by the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust into these eyecatching units that are protected from potential flooding, replacing the Trust's existing temporary caravans and other shelters. The pod structure consists of a galvanised steel frame & external walkway/staircase incorporating metal deck flooring alongside a highly efficient timber frame superstructure, cement board cladding, Kingspan Roofing, PV array & battery storage, and full internal fit out. The project is the first of its type to be attempted by the Trust, and may pave the way for future projects undertaken around the UK for temporary accommodation.
